When my daughter suddenly began having frightening fainting episodes, we found ourselves in the emergency department looking for answers. We were not comfortable with the treatment that was being offered, so I called a number I had saved on my phone months earlier from a mama's social media group.
I thought I was calling a naturopath.
Mr Peter Berryman answered the phone, something I would later find out he almost never did for unknown numbers. As it turned out, he was a homeopath. He guided me through which remedies I could use from the homeopathic first aid kit I already had at home.
She never experienced another episode.
Peter called later that night to check in on her and during the conversation we spoke briefly of health and he casually mentioned that they were about to commence their very first intake at RMDY Academy of Homeopathy. Somehow, despite using homeopathy in my own home for years, I had never even heard of the school which was due to commence the following week.
Peter then said something that would completely change the direction of my life:
"You would make a great homeopath."
The next day I was enrolled.
Homeopathy wasn't new to me. I had been using it in my own home with my husband and two daughters for years, but until that phone call, I had never considered that it could become my life's work. I never even knew the depths of healing it could provide, well beyond simple acute care.
I had always known there was something big out there for me. Something that would enable me to change the trajectory of people's lives through healing.
It has become my mission to help change the way we view health and the way healthcare is delivered.
